Congolese Community of Victoria Inc (CCV)
CCV provides assistance to newly arrived Congolese refugees and migrants during their settlement period. CCV provides social services, support and advocacy for its members to access mainstream services aiming to achieve access and equity. It also provides interpreting services, information and trainings on settlement services in Victoria. In addition, CCV organises cultural festivities, community based social and sport activities. We actively participate in seminars and forums on different socio-economic topics relevant to the Congolese Community of Victoria. We also build strong network with key stakeholder to support our organisation.

Whittlesea U3A Inc.(WU3A)
This Year, 2012, Whittlesea University of the Third Age is celebrating its 10 year anniversary. For some it has been a journey of hard work but a job well done. We are also acknowledging those who have made a difference to so many lives. A visionary spark of an idea from one person with a view to help others was triggered and resulted in a huge network of volunteers and friendship.University of the Third Age is about making friends and at the same time discovering something new every day. Whittlesea U3A Inc was established for people who were over the age of 55 and had retired.The first "University of the Third Age" was founded in Toulouse, France, in 1972. These were courses attached to formal Universities designed especially for older people to improve their quality of life

Hope & Faith Group
Hope & Faith Group is non-profit support group that has been formed by volunteers who have been affected by Depression & Anxiety. The group aims to provide aconfortable forum for people suffering from theses conditions to interact with other people in simlar circumstances.The founding group originally met in 2005 on a regular basis for approximately three years as part of Plenty Valley Community Service”Living and Laughter Group”. Following the closure of this group the “Hope & Faith Group” was formed in 2008 by the existing members on a volunteer basis to continue to offer long-term supportto both new & existing members.

Slacoveans work together across all ethnic, tribal, religious and political barriers to meet the needs of our community, to let SLACOV succeed, and be an example to the diaspora community and to our homeland

Inspire by Abdi Inc.Support & Advocacy for the Community
Inspire by Abdi is a community based organization that advocates for the needs of young people. The organization was founded by Abdi after his appearance on the SBS documentary ‘Go Back To Where You Came From’ and the realization from this that more needed to be done in the community to assist families and normalizing various cultures and beliefs. Our focus at Inspire by Abdi is to give youth and their families many of the opportunities that they may otherwise never be able to experience. Through these programs excursions forums casework and support networking we are able to unite both the youth and the families together

Welcome to the first edition of WCA newsletter for the year 2011.We hope you had an enjoyable and relaxing holiday.
Thank you all for making 2010 a great year, and much appreciation to all who helped out in the planning, organising and running of the events.Last year we had many succesful and exciting activities, as we head into the new year, the committee has planned many more activities.
